Examples of Symbols
Below you will find some examples for symbols of the symbol type Specification

. Note that the symbol keys listed are only examples.
Note
A symbol entry is denoted by angle brackets<and>
Multiple value assignment information is always appended at the end of a symbol, separated by a semicolon. It specifies which data the system outputs if a data record has multiple value assignments. Multiple value assignments are separated by a comma. If nothing is specified, only the first value assignment appears.
Multiple Value Assignment | Entry Appended at End of Symbol |
|---|---|
No multiple value assignment or | None |
Multiple value assignment: | 1 |
Multiple value assignment: | * |
You can enter more information about multiple value assignments manually. For example, if you want to output all values except the first, append the following entry manually to the symbol:;2-*
If multiple value assignments are to be output in another manner, for example, one value assignment per line or with an alternative separator, the symbol can be enclosed in a repeating group of the type Discrete Expansion of Multiple Values
. In this case, no information on multiple value assignment is entered in the symbol itself.
